Franchise Future Part 1: Predator

As most are aware by now, the upcoming episode of Trenchcoat Anti-Critic is a massive retrospective of the entire Alien series, including the Predator movies (because long ago they were retro-actively shoehorned into the same universe). It turns out to be great timing as the two respective franchises are on the verge of a reboot.

Coming up first is Predators, which will disentangle itself from the Alien series for the first time in twenty years.

Attached to this film is Robert Rodriguez in the producing chair. This is the first movie I'm aware of that he's producing but not directing. No, he's left the big chair free for Nimrod Antal, who admittedly has yet to live up to the potential of his first film (Kontroll), but did make two solid, well executed films in the interim.

The movie looks promising; good actors and a fresh direction for the series.

Until next time, I'm the Trenchcoat Anti-Critic
